Last weekend, my mother-in-law treated me to a "hurricane party" mani/pedi. We decided it would be nice to have pretty nails while weathering the storm. Thankfully Irene did not affect us more than a loss of power... Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were more severely impacted.
We went to a salon that only carries high-end, non-toxic polishes (meaning their products don't have Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP). While I have never been brand conscious, I learned that most cheap nail polishes contain these ingredients which are not healthy and can cause weak, peeling nails.
Zoya has a large line of non-toxic polishes (and are vegan friendly) but on Saturday I couldn't resist Fash Pack by butter LONDON. It is a gray/taupe hue and their website describes it as "Putty meets mushroom. Sounds strange and wrong, but somehow it works, like deep fried Mars bars". It is a bold neutral and perfect as we head into fall. It goes on smoothly, has a nice clean finish and so far is wearing well. I'm hoping more places with branch out from Essie and OPI and carry butter LONDON!
